Description
Join us Special CCCA “Delivering Community Benefits” Meeting
March 14, 2017 – 7:00 -9:00 PM
Billings Room, City Hall
The City is reviewing how it implements our “intensification bonus” by means of the Community Benefits policy (section 37). For those of you that were involved in the development of our Community Design Plan (CDP) this is nothing new, but for most of us it might be a bit too time consuming to read and keep up with the ever changing City policies.
The Centretown Citizens Community Association will be holding a special meeting to discuss the subject. To better serve our community at this meeting we will be compiling your wants, needs and unresolved issues, hopefully clarifying for us what our position on the subject should be.
To help prepare, I have included our position from the CDP which serves as guidelines – Section 7.2 Delivering Community Benefits as well as a short definition on how these benefits are “earned”.
DEFINITION: Section 37 authorizes a municipality to pass Zoning By laws involving increases in the height or density. These increases are an incentive to the developer to provide, at no cost to the City, community benefits to the local community in which the contributing development project is located.
For those of you unable to attend, we will be sending a survey in the next couple of weeks. We would appreciate your participation. Help us keep our Centretown worthy of its amazing citizens. Feel to contact me for further information
